Anyone
who is a Black Friday shopper will tell you that the photo on the left was not
of the police dealing with unruly shoppers on Black Friday.
The
avid shopper will be quick to point out that it is a police officer in the
photo using pepper spray. On Black Friday it is your fellow shoppers that use
pepper spray to clear a path to that must have item.
To
prepare for that Black Friday shopping experience I suggest you visit your
nearest law enforcement supply store, or your closest Army and Navy Surplus
store. Please dress appropriately and leave the kiddies at home.
The
photo on the right depicts what the well dressed and well prepared shopper
should wear on Black Friday. Formal, yet functional, and of course dressing in
black always gives one a slimmer appearance.
Thanksgiving
with the family is overrated for shoppers. Nothing prepares one for Christmas
like spending Thanksgiving Day with thousands of complete strangers, throwing
elbows and getting that feeling of accomplishment one gets from getting a
bargain, or snatching a bargain out of someone’s hands. After all it is
survival of the fittest and fastest.
Thanksgiving
with the family is overrated for retail employees. After all it is probably the
only day of the year that they will get an eight hour shift. Many retail
employees are lucky if they are getting eight hours of work per week. I know
one who is getting one four hour shift every two weeks.
Christmas
Day will be the next holiday to disappear. I suppose the upside will be that a
retail employee will get two eight hour shifts within a twelve month period.
Someone
save me a slice of Thanksgiving pizza.
